A chandelier in the dressing room, and other ways the ladies’ VIP area makes you feel special:

An hour or so of sweating to instructions by someone who tells me “just one more time,” will be good for me can sometimes make working out feel more like work than play.  Yet, a private getaway for women can soften the harshness of the gym.  Step inside to soft colors everywhere and a chandelier hanging from the ceiling.  It is spacious, sparkling and oh, so private.  I was happy to feel spoiled when National Fitness Center invited me to try out its VIP concept for the women’s locker room. The formal title for the VIP area is the Women’s Only Executive Lounge.

Before I entered, the NFC West Signature staff helped me use a unique code plus my own hand to program the lounge door to open just for me.  That with another unique code for my locker means no need for a key, key card or even bringing a lock.

What could be the most practical reason for the VIP locker room experience?  The convenience of having certain essential items already stored in my own private, full-length locker.  This eliminates the need to necessarily carry a large bag back and forth for changing.  I can drop by in the midst of an otherwise busy day and get in a quick workout.

What’s really been spoiling me in the VIP area?  The soothing warmth from that extra-large, spa-style shower head, the expansive counter space for primping after a workout, no wait for a hair dryer.  Plus, it just feels relaxing to spend a little extra down time on a comfy seat in front of the fireplace.  See my video tour behind the door here.

I’m inspired to say that for the woman who already has it all, space in this VIP area is the perfect lifestyle addition.  Would be a truly thoughtful gift for her, too.  I never really had an issue with the women’s regular locker room.  Yet, after this time NFC has pampered me in the VIP area, I’m not sure I want to go back.
