Maybe you are still in the sleep deprived state of parenthood, with an infant who wakes for nightly feedings or a preschooler who is learning the independence of sleeping in his or her own room.  Perhaps as a mother you feel like you never have a spare moment to yourself, with everyone else in the family depending on you for something.  Have you found time yet for your own fitness?

It’s not a question meant to add any guilt to the natural state of parenting guilt we all find ourselves in from time to time.  I’ve been there myself, falsely thinking that I couldn’t spare any time alone to help myself get in better post-baby shape.

If you are already a member at National Fitness Center, you have a built-in perk with the childcare program.  Your child from age 6 weeks up to 12 years old qualifies to spend time in the free childcare program while you go work out.  Once a child turns 3, he or she can even enter the Kids in Motion program, for a fee, that offers various structured fitness classes just for kids.

No matter how busy your schedule feels, and no matter how challenging parenthood can be, a little time spent on fitness can become time well spent for everyone in the family.  It can be anything from mom trying out a group fitness class to mom getting a few free moments to walk around the indoor track.  Here’s to #FamilyFitnessFun for every family member.
