You know how complicated life can be, so I hope you’ll understand my belated open letter to you about why this blog has been so quiet over the past year or so.
I’m still here, and I’m so glad you are too. I hope life has been treating you well.
Have you ever gone through a time so devastating that you just wanted to retreat into your shell and not talk about it? That was me.
You know I normally love chatting with you here and on social media about home life, healthy living inspirations, the latest consumer information and much more. I still do. I hope to pick up the pace again to bring you more frequent blog posts with connections to the latest information you want.
The news I was embarrassed to share with you was about my unexpected divorce and the transition into life in single parenthood. It was not something I chose; just the way life would happen for me, as it may have for you at some point. I realize that although the U.S. divorce rate is no longer 50%, and it is getting lower as society seems to put less pressure on marriage as necessity, marriage failure is still the heartbreaking reality for many people.
Despite the divorce, I remain a strong believer in the marriage ideal that I faithfully upheld for all those years. Despite my loss of self-confidence that came through this situation, I feel reassured that, with God’s grace, our single-parent family will be stronger than ever. For the sake of my children, myself and everyone around me, I am determined to rediscover the love and joy in life that is stronger than any past heartache.
As for my time away from blogging, it has been a combination of struggling emotionally through this transition along with time required for other professional commitments to simply pay the household bills. I will gradually be increasing the time and resources spent for you here as much as is practical.
I appreciate you more than you know for your loyalty to following the Flour Sack Mama blog through thick and thin. I hope to continue bringing you information and inspiration to be a blessing in your life. Whatever struggles you may be going through, I pray you will maintain the strength you need to keep on.
