This post was created in partnership with Stonyfield. All opinions are my own.

I still have this idyllic concept that I’ll prepare everything from scratch each week for my kids’ lunches. I do make sure to pack fresh veggies and bake them homemade cookies when I can. The reality is, school days are busy — really busy, for the kids and for me!  I love spending time giving them the attention they need, and being able to work from home.

Halftime Lunching Awesome

Some mornings, we can be really rushed!  Those are the days when I’m happiest to have a couple of Applegate HALF TIME kits in the refrigerator.  For us, it’s not every school lunch. It might be once a week.  I like to add the fresh veggies, of course, and an organic milk.  My youngest thinks it’s fun to make “ants on a log” with her celery.

HALF TIME adds the fun of shaped lunch meats like turkey, ham or balogna with cheese and crackers that kids can use to build their own mini-sandwiches.  If they’re going to eat lunchmeat, I prefer they have the Applegate level of quality with no artificial additives, preservatives or hormones.

What makes HALF TIME really fun for the kids is getting their favorite Stonyfield Organic Squeezers and a treat from Annie’s too!

These are such a great option. Not the best for everyday since there is a lot of waste but it’s not that there is a healthier option for when you really need something quick and easy!

Like Katy, I wish there was a vegetarian option, but it is so nice to have convenience for those super busy times. I know I always have grand visions of homemade snacks and creations for lunches that I have never had the time for myself.

Fun stuff and while I kinda hope I win, not thrilled with the idea of precut, overly packaged single-use stuff. That said, I think it’s a great way to draw the people who are into those kind of conveniences who may otherwise not choose organic options 🙂

I love that there’s a healthier option out there for kids and parents when time is short.

I’ve seen these and think they’re a perfect fit for today’s busy parents (and kids) who desire to keep their family healthy. There are many obvious reasons why these are much better than the Lunchables I used to eat when I was a kid!

Hey there! I have similar aspirations for home cooked meals and snacks. Do you know if they have vegetarian meals and can we recycle all the parts?

Katy, Applegate is a company all about serving up the most natural meat products possible these days, so I don’t know of a vegetarian HALF TIME at this time. If they come up with one, I’d be glad to share about it!

We are HUGE (or my kids) fans of the new HALF TIME meals. When I was at Shiftcon I stocked up on a few so my husband could give the kids these for lunch. It was so helpful and knowing that the boys were still eating something healthy made all the difference.
