Thanksgiving is one of those rare times when we stop to appreciate farmers because of what they help put on our dinner tables. This Thanksgiving in particular I’d like to thank my favorite farmer, my dad.
He helped teach me to drive a tractor, then he didn’t get too upset when I accidentally dented the pickup truck with the hydraulic forklift. Dad farmed full-time alongside my mother for decades, while America’s family farms were dwindling.
Dad turns 80 this year, and he still prides himself in running the farm. I like this old newspaper clipping that shows dad on Aggie day at college. Happy Birthday, Dad!
